Psychology

Understand human thought processes, emotions and behaviour when you study Psychology at Southampton.

Our British Psychological Society accredited undergraduate Psychology courses will introduce you to the various areas of contemporary psychology: cognitive, developmental, clinical, and social, plus training in research methods and data analyses.

This flexible degree allows you to study the areas of psychology that most interest you and you can gain practical experience through our Research Assistant Scheme.

Our courses will prepare you for your career in psychology or in a variety of sectors, and allows further study such as CBT training, or at masters or PhD level.

Geography

Geography at Southampton has an excellent reputation – we’re in the top 50 universities in the world for Geography* and 14th in the UK**. Our undergraduate courses are accredited by the Royal Geographical Society with IBG.

Choosing Geography at Southampton introduces you to an incredibly flexible degree that you can tailor to your personal interests and strengths. You will experience small-group teaching in all years of your degree and international exchange opportunities are available in Europe, Canada and Singapore.

Fieldwork skills are developed across both our BA Geography and BSc Geography degrees including a local field course in the first year, with specialist second-year trips that are included in your course fees. Optional field trips in the third year include locations such as Berlin, Arolla and Cambodia.

Psychology

Geography and Environment

Geography and Environment engages directly with many contemporary concerns: globalisation, climate change, environmental management and cultural transformation. It also allows you to gain valuable transferable skills for your future career. We offer a range of taught masters programmes to expand your geo-information science knowledge. Each is delivered through our internationally renowned research group. Together these address the fundamental challenges in geography and GIS communities.

Psychology - taught courses

Psychology at the University of Southampton offers a growing range of postgraduate-level options. These are carefully tailored to match the needs of employers, and to fulfil the criteria of the British Psychological Society.

Most of our taught programmes lead to an MSc masters in psychology qualification after one year's full-time study, or two years part-time. In some instances, individual modules may be taken on a standalone basis, although priority is given to students registered for the complete psychology masters degrees.

Environmental Science

Our Environmental Science courses integrate theory-based learning with practical and project work, to provide you with the theory and skills to work towards sustainable solutions to global environmental challenges.

The BSc and MEnvSci Environmental Science degrees offer four specialist pathways focusing on the major environmental challenges of the twenty-first century, giving you control over your degree and career path.

The industry-focused BSc Environmental Management with Business is tailored to give you a unique blend of environmental and business expertise, skills and experience.

Environmental Science - taught courses
