The Valley Gardens, home to many rare plant and animal species, are located on the Highfield Campus‚ behind Jubilee Sports Hall and the Students’ Union building.
The Department of Biology began to manage the Valley Gardens in the late 1960s, planting many specimen plants including non-native species. Over subsequent decades, the gardens have undergone a number of changes. Most recently, in 2008, a project team was tasked with rejuvenating the gardens in order to create a more accessible, tranquil and biologically diverse landscape for everyone to enjoy.
A separate Valley Gardens 360 virtual tour is available here. Experience a guided treasure trail to discover a secluded English Country Garden haven. (Please note this app is not supported by Internet Explorer - Chrome or Firefox web browsers are recommended.)
