Mathematical Sciences - taught courses

Mathematical Sciences has one of the broadest communities of mathematicians in the UK, spanning applied mathematics and theoretical physics, pure mathematics, statistics and operational research.

A very high proportion of our MSc graduates go into employment related to their MSc work, as students benefit from direct contact with potential employers during the course. Our postgraduate research students are highly sought after by other universities, business and industry, NGOs and governments worldwide.

If you choose to study with us at postgraduate level, our Graduate School in Mathematical Studies will provide you with a coordinated programme tailored to your needs and the opportunity to be part of the scientific community in the UK and overseas.

We have one of the broadest communities of mathematicians in the UK, spanning pure and applied mathematics, statistics and operational research.

We have a lively and thriving community of postgraduate students engaged in research across a range of areas and we support them extensively. Supervisors, international experts in their field, provide in depth training. Students are given a personal computer, a desk in a shared office and a conference attendance allowance.

We offer a number of competitive studentships to cover fees and cost of living. The type of funding available depends on the eligibility of the candidate.
