Winchester School of Art / WSA - Fashion and South Buildings

Fashion and Textile Design

Our graduates enter top career destinations, from luxury global brands such as Alexander McQueen to high street names like Topshop.

Our BA Fashion and Textile Design offers exciting learning opportunities across the subject areas of fashion design, knitwear, woven textiles and printed textiles. During year one, you will engage in creative projects, workshops, seminars, lectures and study trips.

You will work in your chosen specialist pathway in year two and may also take an exchange module with one of our partner institutions abroad. In year three, you will work with externally set projects and produce a self-initiated body of work before completing a final collection for a public audience.

You will have access to our fully equipped studios and workshops with state-of-the-art machinery, equipment and software and will be taught by internationally recognised teaching staff with industry experience and diverse research interests.

Fashion Marketing/Management

Our fashion marketing studios simulate real-life settings in industry. You will study alongside other creative programmes at our dedicated WSA design campus and will be taught by a core teaching team with strong academic and industry backgrounds.

Our innovative BA Fashion Marketing/Management balances theoretical knowledge with the practical skills required to succeed in all areas of fashion marketing and management. Fashion marketing students explore the theory and practice of creative branding for fashion, fashion communication and digital fashion marketing. Management students develop a more detailed exploration of management issues related to the areas of buying and merchandising, fashion chain management and digital fashion commerce. At the end of the third year, your work will be exhibited at WSA’s Graduate Show and selected students will also present their work at Graduate Fashion Week in London and other key industry events.

Games Design and Art

All of our BA Games Design and Art students become members of our Games Design Hub, with research opportunities and valuable professional contacts.

Our studios are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and BA Games Design and Art students also have access to our internationally renowned Electronics and Computer Sciences (ECS) experts. There is the opportunity to study abroad as part of our Erasmus exchange programme.

Graphic Arts

Our BA Graphic Arts give you the opportunity to experience the commercial world through London-based shows. Our graduates have an excellent record in establishing successful careers in the industry.

The BA Graphic Arts is one of the few remaining studio-based graphics degrees in the country. It has four pathways: Graphic Design, Illustration, Motion Graphics and Photography. The course structure allows the development of a wider skill set than many fixed pathway degrees, with the flexibility to specialise from year two. All students engage with self-promotion and professional practice.
